About Barbell Nutrition

shifting to a wellness, fuelling and strength mindset

Barbell Nutrition is a coaching practice built on a simple idea: strength and proper fueling are the foundation of real, lasting health. Not restriction, not punishment, not chasing a number on the scale, but building a body that's strong, nourished, and capable.

We work with people across the spectrum, from competitive powerlifters chasing their next PR, to recreational lifters who want to train smarter, to clients working to rebuild a healthy relationship with food. Every plan is evidence-based, individualized, and designed to help you feel fueled and empowered rather than deprived.

The goal is always the same: to help you get stronger, eat well, and build habits that actually last.

Founded by Shevi Zeff

Barbell Nutrition was founded by Shevi Zeff, a sports nutritionist and athletic trainer.

Shevi's own path into this work started with a poor relationship with food and exercise, and years spent navigating disordered eating through her teens. Discovering powerlifting changed everything: it showed her the underrated importance of strength and the empowerment that comes with being properly fueled and genuinely healthy. That personal turnaround is what drives her coaching today.

Her education spans nutrition sciences at Hebrew University, personal training at Wingate College, sports rehabilitation therapy at Ono College, eating disorder specialization for dietitians at Machon Magid, and sports nutrition certification through the NCSF, among other diplomas along the way. But more than any credential, it's the work itself that matters most to her.

Shevi has been coaching clients since 2017 and loves nothing more than inspiring positive, lasting change in people who want to improve their health.

i get it

I understand what it is like to feel lost in cycles of restriction, to have a poor relationship with food, to feel stuck with progress, or to believe that being smaller is the only goal.

I think I can help.

My focus is not on restriction or strict unrealistic "diet" or training plans, but rather on balanced, evidence based coaching that helps you reach your goals in a sustainable way, without giving up the foods you love or the life you want to live.

Whether your goal is to feel more energized, get stronger, fix your relationship with food, change your body composition, compete in powerlifting meets, or simply feel more at ease in your own skin, my aim is to give you the tools, structure, and support to create lasting change.

Because at the end of the day, it's about building a body and a mindset that make you feel strong, fueled and well.
